With the A series, Ecovacs has switched to RTK navigation: A separate antenna in the garden provides position data, and the robot then drives along precise paths. Along with the new generation, a different cutting system was also introduced. This disc is made for GOAT A1600 RTK, A2500 RTK and A3000 RTK and comes with pre-assembled stainless steel blades.

Precise paths demand sharp cutting

An RTK-guided robot doesn’t drive random patterns, but parallel paths with a defined overlap. This saves distance and time—however, it also means that every square meter is driven over frequently.

For the blades, this results in consistent, well-plannable load. Unlike random navigation, there are no zones that are rarely reached: Wear is distributed across the entire area.

Reduced sharpness becomes noticeable everywhere at the same time. If the lawn looks dull two days after mowing, it affects the entire area—not just individual spots.

Not suitable for: the older O-Series and the G1 series. These devices have a different mowing deck—so we offer a dedicated disc for GOAT O500, O800, O1200, G1-800 and G1-2000.

A-Series or O-Series?

At Ecovacs, a single letter determines which disc fits. These three points make the assignment reliable:

The antenna in the garden is the best identifying feature

If you had to set up a separate antenna during installation—usually on a mast or on the house roof—you have an RTK device and thus a model from the A-Series.

The older O and G1 models come without such additional hardware; they orient themselves using cameras and internal sensors.

This is the most reliable quick test, because it works without looking underneath the device: If there is an antenna in the garden, then this disc is the right one.

A1600, A2500 or A3000 – one disc for all three?

Yes. The number describes the intended lawn area, not the cutting system. All three RTK models use the same mounting and the same Klingen.

For properties where two devices take over different areas, that means: One replacement part type is enough.

What differs is the rate of wear. An A3000 operating on the full area runs significantly more hours per week than an A1600 in the smaller garden.

I don’t have the model name to hand – what now?

Besides the antenna, there are two other ways. On the nameplate on the underside, you’ll find the full designation, and in the Ecovacs app you can find it under the device information.

The original packaging or the receipt also help further—there, the additional RTK is always listed when it’s an A model.

Replacement on the A Series

Switch off the robot and remove it from the charging station.
Put on gloves and lay the device on its side.
Remove grass clippings around the mowing deck.
Loosen the old disc, attach the new one, and tighten evenly.
Touch each blade— it must be able to rotate freely around its screw.

The RTK antenna remains untouched in its position during the replacement. It does not need to be disassembled or re-calibrated—the map stored in memory remains available.

Signs of dull blades

Buy blades individually as replacements

Because an RTK robot mows the entire area evenly, all cutting edges dull at about the same pace—so the complete set is replaced. The 60-blade replacement set including screws covers multiple such replacements and is ready when the cut quality starts to decline.

Frequently asked questions

Does the cutting disc fit the GOAT A1600, A2500, and A3000 RTK?

Yes, all three A-series models use the same disc mount.

Can I use the mowing disc from my old GOAT O800 on the A2500?

No. Ecovacs has installed a newly designed mowing deck for the A-series. The discs from the O and G1 series do not fit.

How can I tell A and O discs apart if both are in the cabinet?

Best to label them. The discs look similar enough to be mixed up, and a disc that doesn’t lock in properly causes imbalance in the bearing.

Do I need to recalibrate the RTK antenna after changing the disc?

No, as long as the antenna remains untouched in its position. Take the robot off the lawn for the swap and leave the antenna in place.

How often is a replacement needed for the A-series?

The A models cover larger areas and accumulate more operating hours. Plan based on runtime rather than calendar time—the lawn shows it in frayed blade tips.

My A3000 leaves stripes even though the disc looks new.

Check whether the blades have play in their mounts. Worn-out holders allow the blades to swing out further and cut at a slightly different height—then only a new disc will help.

Are the blades pre-assembled?

Yes, the disc is delivered ready to install.

GRASBOT Assembly Instructions

General assembly instructions for cutting discs, replacement blades, and blades for compatible robotic lawnmowers.

Note

These instructions apply generally to compatible cutting discs, replacement blades, and blades from GRASBOT.
They do not refer to a specific model or specific version. Always additionally follow
the operating instructions of your robotic lawnmower.

Important safety notice

Sharp blades. Risk of injury. The blades and blades can cause severe cuts.
Always wear suitable protective gloves during assembly, disassembly, cleaning, and maintenance.
Never work on the cutting disc while it is still moving.

1. General safety instructions

The operator is responsible for accidents, injuries, and damage that occur to other people or their property.
Keep children, animals, and bystanders away from the robotic lawnmower during work and during operation.
Never touch the cutting disc or the blades while they are still moving.
Always switch the robotic lawnmower completely off before working on the cutting disc or on the blades.
If possible, remove the battery or disconnect the device from the power supply.
Always wear suitable protective gloves.
Do not use damaged, bent, heavily worn, or corroded blades, screws, or cutting discs.
Regularly check the condition of the blades, the mounting screws, and the cutting disc.

2. Tools and materials required

Suitable screwdriver or bit, matching the screws used.
Protective gloves.
New or inspected fastening screws.
GRASBOT cutting disc, replacement blades, or blade(s).
Optional: soft surface for safely placing the mowing robot.

Important

Use only suitable screws and appropriate mounting material.
If provided for by the manufacturer or included in the delivery, use screws with thread-locking compound
or suitable screw locking.

3. Preparation

Fully stop the mowing robot.
Switch off the device according to the operating instructions.
Remove the battery if possible.
Wait until the cutting disc has come to a complete stop.
Carefully turn the mowing robot over and place it on a stable, soft surface.
Check the work area for cleanliness and adequate lighting.

4. Dismantling the existing cutting disc

Loosen the mounting screws of the existing cutting disc.
Remove the screws completely and set them safely aside.
Carefully remove the existing cutting disc from the blade mount.
Clean the blade mount of grass clippings, dirt, and deposits.
Check the blade mount for damage or unusual wear.

Warning

Do not use the new cutting disc if the blade mount, mounting points,
threads, or screws are damaged. In this case, the lawn mower may only be used again after
proper inspection.

5. Installing the GRASBOT cutting disc

Fit the GRASBOT cutting disc onto the blade mount.
Make sure the cutting disc sits flat and is correctly centered.
Insert the appropriate fastening screws.
Tighten the screws evenly and firmly.
Do not overtighten the screws to avoid damage to threads or components.
After installation, check that the cutting disc is securely fastened.
Carefully rotate the cutting disc by hand and check that it runs freely.

6. Installation or replacement of the replacement blades

Loosen the screws of the old blades.
Carefully remove the old blades.
Clean the contact surfaces on the cutting disc.
Install the new GRASBOT replacement blades on the designated mounting points.
Make sure the blades remain free to move, if this is intended by the design.
Fasten each blade with a suitable screw.
Tighten the screws securely without over-tightening them.
Check each blade for a secure fit and free movement.

7. Check after installation

Are all screws fully inserted and securely fastened?
Is the cutting disc straight and firmly seated?
Can the blades move freely, if intended?
Have no tools or foreign objects been left in the area of the cutting disc?
Does the cutting disc run freely and without grinding?

8. Operation and Maintenance

Check the blades, screws, and cutting disc regularly for wear.
Replace damaged or heavily worn parts immediately.
Clean the cutting disc regularly of grass clippings and dirt.
Do not use the lawn mower robot if unusual noises, vibrations, or running problems occur.
Use only compatible replacement parts and suitable mounting materials.

Note on Blade Replacement

Always replace blades in good time. Dull or damaged blades can worsen the cutting pattern,
place a greater load on the lawn mower robot, and impair safety.
