ANTHBOT: six models, one mowing disc

ANTHBOT is one of the newest names on the market and has brought six models to market in a short time. For buyers, that can be confusing—while the spare parts question is surprisingly simple, because all six use the same disc mount. Battery, range, and navigation differ significantly, but the cutting unit does not.

Which ANTHBOT is which?

A note you won’t find in the brochure: The jump from the Genie 600 to the 1000 is worthwhile for most gardens rather than the jump to the 3000. The large battery only makes a difference if the robot actually has to cover the entire area in one go—at 800 m² it charges in between anyway, and nobody minds if it works at night.

Typical problems with ANTHBOT robots

Mix-up of M5 and M5 LiDAR

The names differ only by an added term, but the technology behind them is clearly different: the LiDAR version lacks the RTK antenna; instead, it works with 360° scanning. For buying the mowing disc, this doesn’t matter—though it does for other replacement parts.

Unsteady operating noise from the cutting unit

Most of the time, a blade is missing or one is bent. The disc then runs out of balance—that’s the case where you shouldn’t wait until the weekend, because the imbalance goes to the bearing.

Expectation that more blades bring more performance

They don’t. The motor stays just as strong; only the number of cuts per revolution changes. If the robot gets stuck in tall grass, a 9-blade disc won’t help either.
