GRASBOT didn’t come to life on a drawing board, but in our own garden — out of frustration with dull cutting discs, long delivery times, and prices that had no relation to the component.

How it all began

At the start, it was a perfectly normal robotic lawnmower. It ran reliably, completing its rounds — until after the first season the cutting pattern got worse. The grass was no longer cut cleanly, but torn off at the blades. The tips turned brown, and the lawn looked as if it had been tended with a dull pair of scissors.

The cause was quickly identified: the blades and the mowing disc were worn out. What came next, every robotic lawnmower owner knows — searching for replacements. Original discs were expensive, often not available for weeks, and cheap offers from abroad either didn’t fit properly or broke after just a few weeks at the blade plate mounting.

So we started measuring, designing, and testing ourselves. First only for our own robot. Then for the devices of friends and neighbors who had the same problem.

From annoyance to product

  1. Understanding the problem

    We took worn discs apart and compared them. It turned out: it’s not the blades alone that are the problem, but the interaction between the disc material, blade plate mounting, and balancing. An unbalanced disc puts strain on the motor bearings — and in the end costs significantly more than a set of blades.

  2. Our own prototypes

    We tested different material thicknesses and numbers of blades: six, seven, nine blades. Each variant has its purpose — more blades mean a finer cutting pattern, fewer blades save the battery. That’s why we still offer multiple variants today, instead of selling one solution as the only right one.

  3. Practical testing over an entire season

    Testing wasn’t done in a lab, but on real lawns — with molehill mounds, branches, pine cones, and everything else a robotic mower encounters in everyday life. Only when a mowing disc makes it through a complete season without cracking at the mounting does it make it into our range.

  4. Directly from the manufacturer

    We sell without middlemen. That’s why our mowing discs cost less than original parts — not because the material is worse, but because the path from the manufacturer to you is shorter.

What we stand for

Perfect fitEach mowing disc is made for specific models. On every product page you’ll see which devices it fits — and which it explicitly does not.
Balanced setsMowing discs are manufactured in pairs as a set. Imbalance costs battery runtime and, in the long run, puts strain on the motor bearings.
Stainless SteelThe blades are made of rust-free stainless steel, the disc of robust composite plastic — both for continuous outdoor operation.
Honest AdviceIf a disc doesn’t fit your model, we’ll let you know. A return is annoying for both of us.

Why multiple blade variants?

Because there isn’t one single correct answer. If you want a very fine cut and mow frequently, nine blades are the best choice. If you care about battery runtime or have a large area, six blades will take you further. Seven blades are the compromise most people choose.

We didn’t invent these variants to expand the range — they are the result of the test series from the first season. On each product page, you can switch between the variants right away and see the price difference immediately.

Who’s behind it

Behind GRASBOT is GRASBOT, based in Zgorzelec, right on the German border. The short distance isn’t a coincidence: most of our customers mow in Germany and Austria, and from here a package is with the customer the next day.
