Description

Replacement mowing disc for Sunseeker V3 and X3

Sunseeker is younger on the German market than Husqvarna or Gardena—accordingly, spare parts are scarce in retail. If you’re looking for a new mowing disc for your V3 or X3, you often only have the option of going through the manufacturer with long waiting times. This disc is made in-house, with seven or nine pre-assembled stainless steel blades, shipped from the EU.

Mowing disc for Sunseeker V3 and X3 in the lawn
Manufactured as a balanced set

Why balancing matters for wide mowing decks

V3 and X3 work with a comparatively wide cutting unit. This brings speed to the area, but also makes the system more sensitive to unevenly distributed weight: the farther out a mass is positioned, the more strongly it affects rotational speed.

That’s why we manufacture the discs as a matched set and supply them pre-fitted. What matters during assembly is only the even tightening of the screws.

Practical consequence for operation: never replace blades individually. A fresh cutting edge next to worn ones weighs differently—and exactly this difference is transferred to the suspension.

Compatible Sunseeker models

Sunseeker V3
Sunseeker X3
Note: Sunseeker runs several product lines in parallel—besides V3 and X3, also V1, S3 and X5, sometimes in Plus versions as well. If your device has a different designation, we’re happy to check compatibility in advance using the type plate before you place an order.

Questions about Sunseeker replacement parts

Because the brand is still young in this country, most questions revolve around availability and fit:

Does this disc also fit the Plus versions?

The Plus variants usually differ in terms of features such as sensors or accessories, not necessarily the mowing unit. Still, the rule here applies: better safe than sorry.

Before you place your order, send us the full model name from the type plate—we’ll check the fit and, as a rule, reply the same day.

It only takes you two minutes and, if anything, saves you from having to return the item.

Why are Sunseeker replacement parts so hard to get?

The brand has only arrived in Germany in the last few years. Specialist retailers usually stock replacement parts only for the established manufacturers, and when ordering directly, delivery routes from abroad come into play.

That’s frustrating for the mowing disc, because it’s one of the parts you need during the season—not in winter, when waiting time wouldn’t matter.

We manufacture the discs ourselves and ship from the EU. That way, the replacement part is in your garden within a few days instead of taking several weeks.

V3 or X3 – do the mowing discs need to be different?

No, both models use the same mounting and the same blades. They differ in equipment and intended use, not in the cutting system.

So if you operate both devices in parallel, you only need one type of spare part—also the blades can be swapped between them.

The only difference is how quickly wear sets in: the model with the higher area output accumulates more operating hours per week.

Replacement on the Sunseeker

  1. Switch the device off and remove it from the charging station.
  2. Put on gloves and lay the robot on its side.
  3. Clear the mowing area of grass clippings so the disc sits flat.
  4. Loosen the old disc, fit the new one, and tighten the screws crosswise.
  5. After that, rotate it by hand and tap each blade— it must run freely.

Rotating it by hand is the most important step for wide mowing decks. If the disc rubs somewhere or a blade gets stuck, you’ll notice it here—not only after the first mowing run.

7 or 9 blades

For the V3 and X3, we offer two configurations. Both are mounted on the same attachment—the difference is how often a blade of grass is captured along the same path.

7 blades – for normal operation

The balanced choice for lawns that the robot travels over several times per week. Seven cutting edges deliver a clean result and distribute the load so that each individual edge retains enough material.

Where the growth is stronger or more collects between mowing passes, this is the more robust option.

7 blades – the robust base
Mowing disc with 9 blades for Sunseeker X3 in use
9 blades – for neatly kept lawn

9 blades – the finest cutting pattern

Nine cutting edges capture the grass blade more often on every pass. On a short-kept lawn with daily operation, this results in a particularly even look—especially noticeable with the wide cutting paths of these machines.

During longer mowing breaks, the advantage turns around: the same amount of work is spread over more edges, which dull faster. Then the 7-blade setup remains the more durable solution.

When a new set makes sense

The robot runs noticeably more unevenly than at the start of the season
Blade tips are torn instead of being cleanly cut
Narrow strips remain uncut on the area
A blade is stuck or visibly bent

Buy blades individually

Because with Sunseeker the entire set is always replaced and spare parts are difficult to get locally, it’s especially worth keeping a supply. The 60-blade replacement set including screws covers many replacements— and it’s in the shed when you need it.

Frequently asked questions

Does the disc fit Sunseeker V3 and X3?

Yes, both models use the same disc mount.

My Sunseeker vibrates—do I have to replace the entire disc right away?

In most cases, yes. Vibration is usually caused by a missing or bent blade. Installing a single new blade among used ones creates the next imbalance due to the weight difference.

Why is balancing the Sunseeker more important than with other robots?

Because the mowing deck is wider. The same weight difference acts on a larger lever and causes stronger vibration that transfers to the motor bearing.

Is the disc available with 6 blades?

No, for Sunseeker we offer 7 and 9 blades.

Does the 9-blade version run more quietly?

Tendentially yes, because the weight is distributed more densely around the circumference. However, what matters most is that all blades are present and undamaged.

How often do I need to replace the blades on the Sunseeker?

There is no fixed interval. Pay special attention to operating noises—on this mowing deck, they are an earlier sign than the cutting pattern.

Are the blades equally weighted?

Yes, the blades are manufactured and delivered as a set and installed so that the disc runs balanced from the start.

  • Is the cutting disc straight and firmly seated?
  • Can the blades move freely, if intended?
  • Have no tools or foreign objects been left in the area of the cutting disc?
  • Does the cutting disc run freely and without grinding?

8. Operation and Maintenance

  • Check the blades, screws, and cutting disc regularly for wear.
  • Replace damaged or heavily worn parts immediately.
  • Clean the cutting disc regularly of grass clippings and dirt.
  • Do not use the lawn mower robot if unusual noises, vibrations, or running problems occur.
  • Use only compatible replacement parts and suitable mounting materials.

Note on Blade Replacement

Always replace blades in good time. Dull or damaged blades can worsen the cutting pattern,
place a greater load on the lawn mower robot, and impair safety.
