Description

Replacement mowing disc for Navimow i105E, i108E and i205 AWD

Segway offers three device families under the Navimow name that look similar but have different mowing units. This disc belongs to the small i series: i105E, i108E and i205 AWD. It comes with pre-assembled stainless steel blades and is swapped directly for the worn original disc—no adapters, no reworking.

A disc for the entire small i series

Three models, one spare part

i105E, i108E and i205 AWD differ in mowing performance and equipment – but for the cutting deck, Segway has kept the same mounting. If you drive one of these three devices, you’ll use the same disc.

This is practical for households with two robots: one spare part on the shelf covers both, and even the Klingen are interchangeable with each other.

What matters is the separation by height and to the side: the larger i-models from i208 AWD and the entire H series each require a different disc. Which one it is can be found further below.

Not suitable for: i208 AWD, i215 LiDAR, i220 LiDAR as well as the entire H series. For these devices, we offer our own discs: mowing discs for i208 AWD, i215 & i220 LiDAR · mowing discs for H500E, H800E & H1500E.

Which Navimow do I have?

The model names are very close to each other, and Segway has expanded the lineup over the years. These three questions clear up the most common mix-ups:

i105E or i108E – do they need different discs?

No, both use the same mowing deck. The difference is in the recommended lawn area and in details of the equipment, not in the disc mount.

The same applies to the i205 AWD: it includes all-wheel drive for more uneven terrain, but it mows with the same disc as its two smaller siblings.

The only difference is how quickly it becomes noticeable. An i108E on a large area covers more distance per week than an i105E in a small garden—and therefore needs new blades earlier.

What distinguishes the i-series from the H-series?

The H-series is the older model line with boundary wire-free navigation via satellite, while the i-series is the newer generation with improved sensing and a more compact chassis.

When choosing replacement parts, one thing is especially important: The mowing units are not identical. A disc from the H-series does not fit an i105E and vice versa.

You can tell by the model name on the type label on the underside. If there is an H with a three-digit number (H500E, H800E, H1500E), you need the disc for the H-series.

How often should the blade set be replaced?

A fixed calendar value is misleading—what matters is runtime. A robot that covers a small area every day accumulates operating hours faster than one that starts twice a week.

It’s more reliable to look at the lawn: As soon as the tips of the blades look frayed instead of cleanly cut, and the area looks dull two days after mowing, the cutting edges are blunt.

The disc itself lasts significantly longer than the blades. You only need to replace it when, after a collision, it shows cracks or starts running unevenly.

Replacement on the Navimow

  1. Switch off the robot and remove it from the charging station.
  2. Put on gloves, turn the device over, and place it safely.
  3. Remove grass clippings around the mowing deck—wet cuttings often stick here.
  4. Loosen the old disc, fit the new one, and tighten it evenly.
  5. Tap each blade once: It must be able to rotate freely around its screw.

The last point is the most important. If a blade gets stuck because the screw is seated too tightly, it cannot fold away during contact with a stone—and the force is transferred directly to the disc and the mowing motor.

6, 7 or 9 blades for the Navimow

The number of blades does not change the motor performance—it determines how often a blade of grass is hit on the same run. Which setup makes sense depends on the mowing interval.

6 blades – factory setup with center cover

The version that matches the original. The robot behaves as before, and the battery runtime remains the same—the right choice if you simply want to replace the worn mowing disc.

This version is the only one that has a closed center; the 7- and 9-blade discs do not. The Navimow follows its paths with high overlap and thereby throws up a lot of fine clippings; part of it ends up under the chassis. The cover prevents it from getting stuck at the blade mount and slowing down the cutting edges.

For anyone who runs the robot on a schedule and doesn’t want to deal with the underside, this is the most straightforward option.

6 blades – with closed center
Mowing disc with 7 blades for Navimow i105E
7 blades – a more even cut

7 blades – for a well-groomed ornamental lawn

One more cutting edge, and the cut pattern becomes noticeably calmer. Because the Navimow mows with a clear overlap anyway, the additional cuts add up across the entire area.

Recommended when the lawn is kept short and mowed every two to three days.

Without center cover: On dry grass, it doesn’t matter much. If you let the Navimow run often in the early morning hours, you’ll be better off with the 6-blade disc, which requires less maintenance.

Choose 7-blade variant

Additional charge see selection above

9 blades – for daily use

The densest blade setup shows its strength when the robot drives practically every day and only trims by a few millimeters. Then even the last blades standing individually disappear.

If, on the other hand, Navimow only goes through longer grass twice a week, the 6-blade or 7-blade setup is the more durable choice – nine narrow cutting edges wear out faster under this kind of load.

Also without center cover. With daily operation on short lawn, little collects under the chassis anyway.

Choose 9-blade variant

Additional cost see selection above
Mowing disc with 9 blades for Navimow in use
9 blades – densest setup

Signs of dull blades

Grass blades look frayed, not cleanly cut
The lawn looks brownish two days after mowing
The robot noticeably moves more slowly through denser areas
Notches or bends are visible along the cutting edges

Buy blades individually

On the Navimow, the blades wear out while the mowing disc remains. If you order the 60-blade replacement set including screws at the same time, you’ll have everything at home for the next blade changes—and you can swap them immediately if needed, instead of waiting for delivery.

Frequently asked questions

Does the cutting disc fit the Navimow i105E, i108E and i205 AWD?

Yes, for all three models. Segway uses the same disc mount on the small i-series. The devices differ in battery, area performance and drive, not in the cutting system.

Does the mowing disc from the i205 AWD also fit the i208 AWD?

No. Despite a similar model number, the i208 AWD has a larger mowing deck with a different mount. For the i208 AWD, i215 LiDAR and i220 LiDAR you need the disc from the large i-series.

How often do I need to change the cutting disc on the Navimow i105E?

The calendar helps little here. Because the i105E has the narrowest mowing deck, it drives more lanes for the same area than larger models and therefore accumulates operating hours faster. Frayed blade tips are the most reliable indicator.

What is the difference between 6, 7 and 9 blades on the i108E?

The cutting force does not change; the motor remains just as powerful. More blades produce more cuts per revolution and thus a finer cutting pattern. With a smaller battery, the lower power requirement favors the 6-blade version.

Are screws and blades included in the package?

The blades are already mounted on the disc; you don’t need to screw anything on individually. For attaching to the robot, use the existing screw from your old mowing disc.

The Navimow vibrates after the change—what can I do?

Most of the time, grass felt is still between the mount and the disc. Remove the disc, clean the mount thoroughly, and reattach it. If the mower still runs unevenly, check that all blades can swing out freely and that none is bent.

Original Segway or aftermarket – does it make a difference for balancing?

What matters is manufacturing accuracy, not the brand name. A cleanly manufactured aftermarket part runs more smoothly than an original mowing disc with a missing or bent blade. It’s important that all blades have the same weight and can swing out freely.

Do I need to reconfigure the robot after changing the mowing disc?

No. The change is purely mechanical; the map and settings remain the same. Just make sure you don’t move the RTK antenna in the garden while you’re working on the robot.
