Description

Replacement mowing disc for LUBA 1 AWD and LUBA 2 AWD

The LUBA is an all-wheel mower—and you can tell with its mowing deck. Where other robots turn around at the slope edge, the LUBA keeps going, through taller grass and over uneven ground. This mowing disc is made for this level of stress: balanced, with pre-installed stainless steel blades, suitable for LUBA 1 AWD 1000, 3000, 5000 and LUBA 2 AWD up to model year 2024.

Mowing disc with 6 blades for Mammotion LUBA 1 AWD and LUBA 2 AWD
Made for continuous operation in all-wheel drive use

Why the LUBA is harder on the mowing deck

All-wheel drive means: The robot stops less often and covers areas that a two-wheel mower leaves out—slopes up to 38 degrees, damp low spots, and dense transition zones to the flower bed. Each of these trips costs blade sharpness.

There’s also the area requirement. A LUBA 2 AWD 5000 is designed for 5,000 m² and therefore runs for a long time in one go. The blades cover many times the distance compared to what a small garden robot ever sees.

The disc itself is not a wear part—the blades are. That’s why we supply it pre-fitted and swappable: If you upgrade later, you only replace the cutting edges.

Compatible LUBA models

LUBA 1 AWD 1000
LUBA 1 AWD 3000
LUBA 1 AWD 5000
LUBA 2 AWD (up to 2024)
Not compatible with: LUBA MINI and YUKA Mini – the smaller series have a different disc mount. For those, we offer our own discs: Mowing disc for LUBA MINI AWD and Mowing disc for YUKA Mini.

Which Mammotion do I have?

Mammotion offers three series in parallel, and the names are very similar. If you’re unsure, you can find the differences here—just unfold to see them.

LUBA, LUBA MINI or YUKA Mini – the differences at a glance
LUBA 1 / 2 AWD LUBA MINI AWD YUKA Mini
Drive All-wheel drive (4WD) All-wheel drive (4WD) Two-wheel drive
Area 1,000 – 5,000 m² 800 – 1,500 m² 500 – 1,000 m²
Slope up to 38° up to 38° up to 24°
Mowing disc this one own disc own disc
Typically for large property, hillside location medium-sized garden with slope level city garden

The mounting for the mowing disc differs between the model series—an LUBA disc does not fit a MINI and vice versa. If you’re unsure, the type label on the underside of the robot will help.

LUBA 2 AWD 3000 or 5000 – does it matter for the disc?

No. The number refers to the area performance, not the mower deck size: 3000 means 3,000 m², 5000 corresponds to 5,000 m². Both models use the same disc mount and the same blades.

Practically speaking: one replacement part covers both. The difference only becomes relevant with wear— a 5000 model runs more hours and needs new blades earlier.

LUBA 1 or LUBA 2 – does the same disc fit?

Yes, up to the year of manufacture 2024. Mammotion did not change the mount during the generation switch, so this disc fits both generations.

For devices from 2025 onward, it’s worth taking a look at the installed disc before ordering: if there are three screws positioned in a triangle and the diameter matches the original, our disc will fit. If there are any differences, just write to us—we’ll check it using the serial number.

Change without a workshop visit

  1. Switch off LUBA and remove it from the charging station—not just pause it.
  2. Put on gloves and lay the robot on its side.
  3. Detach grass felt and soil residue from the mowing deck; especially with the AWD, quite a bit collects there.
  4. Unscrew the old disc, attach the new one, and tighten evenly.
  5. Turn it by hand: The disc must run freely, without scraping.

Five minutes, a screwdriver. The only thing that matters is tightening evenly—an incorrectly seated disc creates imbalance, and the mowing motor carries that imbalance throughout the entire season.

6, 7 or 9 blades for the LUBA

With the all-wheel mower, the number of blades matters less for cutting performance than for service life. More cutting edges share the same work—resulting in a finer cut pattern, but each individual blade lasts for a shorter time.

6 blades – the robust choice with cover

The configuration with which LUBA is supplied. For large areas with tall or damp grass, it is the most durable option: fewer cutting edges mean more material per blade and therefore longer service lives.

In addition, it includes a component that the other two variants don’t have: a closed cap over the center of the mowing disc. With LUBA, this isn’t just cosmetic—when an all-wheel mower turns on soft ground, it pushes soil and clippings under the chassis, and that material would otherwise wrap around the blade mount. The cap keeps the area covered, allowing the blades to continue running freely.

On 3,000 m² and more, this adds up: every cleaning stop means bringing the robot out, turning it around, and scraping the mowing area clear. That’s usually avoided here.

Choose 6-blade variant

Base price – €81.90
Mowing disc with 6 blades for Mammotion LUBA – factory fitted
6 blades – longest service life
Mowing disc with 7 blades for Mammotion LUBA
7 blades – finer cutting pattern

7 blades – the middle way

One cutting edge more for a noticeably more even cutting pattern, with hardly any measurable increase in wear. The most sensible option for well-kept lawns with normal growth height.

Especially on slopes, this pays off: there, the LUBA mows in lanes with greater overlap, and finely cut material decomposes faster.

For context: The middle cap is reserved for the 6-blade version. If you mow your property mostly when the ground is dry, you’ll hardly notice it—on heavy, damp ground, the 6-blade disc is the easier-to-maintain option.

Choose 7-blade variant

84.90 € – 3.00 € more than the 6-blade disc

9 blades – decorative lawn setup

The densest variant is worth it if LUBA runs every day and the lawn is kept short. The cut pattern then becomes visibly more even, and individual blades that are left behind disappear.

On large natural areas with overgrowth, however, it’s the wrong choice—there, nine thin cutting edges dull faster than they provide any benefit.

Choose 9-blade variant

89.90 € – 8.00 € more than the 6-blade disc
Mowing disc with 9 blades for Mammotion LUBA in use
9 blades – for areas kept short

When the mowing disc is due

The lawn looks dull after mowing instead of rich green
Frayed blade tips that turn brown after two days
The LUBA runs noticeably more unsteadily than usual
After a collision: check the mowing disc for cracks and impact

Buy blades individually

With LUBA, the blades are the wear part—the mowing disc lasts significantly longer. If you mow large areas, the 60-blade replacement set including screws keeps you stocked for several seasons at home—and you won’t have to wait for a delivery the next time you change them.

Frequently asked questions

Does the cutting disc fit LUBA 1 AWD and LUBA 2 AWD?

Yes, for both series up to model year 2024 and across all area variants (1000, 3000, 5000). The disc mounting is identical.

Can I use the disc from the larger LUBA on the LUBA MINI?

No. The MINI has a significantly smaller mowing deck with its own mounting. The discs are not interchangeable, not even with an adapter.

Why are my blades worn on one side?

That’s typical for sloped properties. The robot usually drives the incline in a preferred direction, and in doing so one side of the disc engages the ground more often. Not a defect, but a driving profile.

How often do I need to change the blades on the LUBA AWD on a slope?

Expect about twice the frequency compared to flat terrain. On an incline, the cutting system encounters roots and stones more often, which reduces sharpness.

Can I do something on a slope to protect the blades?

Yes: Set the cutting height in sloped areas one centimeter higher than on flat ground. You can hardly notice it visually, but the blades engage the ground significantly less often.

Is a set of 9 blades worth it for the LUBA AWD?

On flat ornamental lawns, yes. With pronounced slopes, the advantage wears off faster than you’d expect—there, the 6-blade variant is often the more practical choice.

The LUBA vibrates after the change—what’s the reason?

Most often, compacted soil is still stuck between the mounting and the disc. Remove the disc, clean the mounting thoroughly, and reattach it. If the vibration continues, check that all blades swing freely.

Are the blades already installed?

Yes, the disc comes ready to install. You don’t need to screw in individual blades.
