Description

Replacement mowing disc for YUKA Mini and YUKA Mini 2

The YUKA Mini works with a floating-mounted cutting deck – the disc follows the ground profile instead of rigidly scraping over unevenness. This protects the lawn, but it also places demands on the disc: it must be cleanly balanced, otherwise every imbalance is transferred directly to the suspension. This disc fits the entire Mini family – YUKA Mini 500 to 800 and YUKA Mini 2 500, 800, 1000, including the LiDAR versions.

Balanced for the floating mowing deck

Why balancing matters for the YUKA

Unlike mowing decks that are rigidly mounted, the disc on the YUKA Mini is mounted so it can move. When the robot drives over a bump in the ground, the entire mowing deck tilts upward and then settles back into place. The result is an even cut even on uneven terrain.

The downside: A poorly balanced disc has more room to start vibrating. What on a rigid mowing deck only produces a hum becomes noticeable shaking with floating mounting—and puts strain on the suspension.

We manufacture the mowing discs as a matched set and supply them with blades already installed. During installation, you don’t need to readjust anything—just tighten them evenly.

Not compatible with: LUBA MINI AWD and the larger LUBA models. YUKA and LUBA are made by the same manufacturer, but they do not share the disc mounting. For these devices, we offer our own discs: Mowing disc for LUBA MINI AWD · Mowing disc for LUBA 1 & 2 AWD.

YUKA Mini or LUBA MINI?

Hardly any question is asked more often at Mammotion. Both devices are compact, cost about the same, and are often shown side by side—the difference lies in the drive.

A direct comparison of the two mini series
YUKA Mini LUBA MINI AWD
Drive Rear-wheel drive, lighter chassis All-wheel drive (4WD)
Strength level to slightly undulating gardens sloped areas and soft ground
Navigation LiDAR + camera Camera vision; depending on the model, LiDAR
Cutting system floating-mounted guided firmly on the chassis
Mowing disc this disc own disc

In short: If you mow mostly flat areas, the YUKA is cheaper and quieter. If you have slopes in your garden, you need the all-wheel drive. The mowing discs are not interchangeable between the two rows.

YUKA Mini 2 500, 800 or 1000 – does anything change about the mowing disc?

No. The numbers indicate the recommended lawn area in square meters, not the mowing unit. Whether 500 or 1000: the pickup, blades and mowing disc are identical.

Also between the first Mini generation and the Mini 2, Mammotion kept the pickup the same—one mowing disc covers both.

The only thing that’s truly different is wear. A Mini 2 1000 on full area covers significantly more meters per week than a Mini 500 in a townhouse garden and needs new replacement blades earlier.

Is the mowing unit on the YUKA more sensitive than on other robots?

Not more sensitive, but set up differently. Because the mowing disc is mounted so it can move, you’ll notice an imbalance earlier than with rigid designs—the robot then runs noticeably unsteadily rather than just louder.

That’s actually an advantage: you notice immediately if a blade is bent or missing, instead of driving for months with poor cutting results.

That’s why it’s important never to replace individual blades, but always the complete set. A new blade next to five worn ones weighs differently—exactly that creates imbalance.

Replacement on the YUKA Mini

  1. Switch off the robot using the button, not just pause it.
  2. Put on gloves and carefully lay the device on its side.
  3. Clean the mowing deck of grass residues—the floating deck can be lifted easily for this.
  4. Loosen the screws, remove the old disc, attach the new one, and tighten in a cross pattern.
  5. Turn the disc by hand and tap each blade: it must be able to move freely around its screw.

Tightening in a cross pattern is more important here than with fixed mowing decks—this ensures the disc sits flat and the floating bearing is able to work as intended.

6, 7 or 9 blades on the YUKA Mini

With a 190 mm cutting width, the YUKA operates in narrow lanes and overlaps accordingly often. Each blade of grass is therefore hit multiple times—the number of blades determines less the power and more the fineness of the cut.

6 blades – factory configuration with protective cap

The direct replacement for the original cutting disc: same configuration, same running behavior, no adjustment needed for the robot.

This version is the only one with a cap over the center of the mowing disc—it is not available with 7 or 9 blades. On the YUKA, it plays a special role because the floating mowing deck, when lowered, pushes cut material inward. Without a cap, it collects around the blade mounting; with the cap, the area remains accessible and the blades rotate freely.

For anyone who maintains the lawn normally and wants to simply let the robot run, this is the easiest option to care for.

Mowing disc with 6 blades for YUKA Mini
6 blades – with protective cap over the center
Mowing disc with 7 blades for YUKA Mini
7 blades – for denser lawn

7 blades – denser cutting pattern

One more cutting edge on the same disc. With YUKA’s narrow mowing lanes, this adds up quickly: the grass is hit more often with each overlap, and the cut becomes shorter and more even.

Ideal for well-kept ornamental lawns and regular mowing intervals of two to three days.

Without center cap: On dry, level lawn, this makes no difference. If you frequently run the YUKA over wet grass, you should choose the 6-blade version.

Choose 7-blade variant

Additional cost see selection above

9 blades – for daily operation

The densest blade setup is worth it when the YUKA runs practically every day and only trims the tips. This creates a very uniform cutting pattern in which individual blades that remain standing are hardly noticeable.

With longer mowing breaks or tall grass, the advantage is reversed: nine narrow cutting edges distribute the same work across more edges and therefore dull earlier accordingly.

Also here without a center cap – in practice, for daily operation on dry lawn, this is not an issue.

Choose 9-blade variant

Additional cost see selection above

9 blades – maximum cutting density

Time for a new disc?

The YUKA shakes during operation even though the ground is level
Cut edges look crushed instead of cleanly separated
After mowing, stripes of uncut blades remain
A blade can no longer be turned freely

Buy blades individually

Because with YUKA the entire set of blades should always be replaced, it’s especially worth keeping a supply. The 60-blade replacement set with screws is enough for many swaps—and the next set is already on hand when the lawn needs it.

Frequently asked questions

Does the disc fit the YUKA Mini and YUKA Mini 2?

Yes, for both generations and all surface variants (500, 800, 1000). The disc mount remained unchanged.

Can I use the YUKA mowing disc on the LUBA MINI?

No. YUKA and LUBA have different mowing systems, even within the MINI class.

Why does so much grass collect on the underside of the YUKA Mini?

The sweeping module collects clippings, and part of them presses against the underside of the disc. This is design-related. Clean all three to four mowing cycles with a wooden spatula.

My YUKA cuts poorly—blades or felt?

First clean, then assess. Very often, compacted grass felt is the cause, because the blades then can’t swing freely. If the picture is clean after cleaning, the disc was fine.

Are 9 blades worth it for the YUKA Mini?

Only for grass kept short and daily operation. When there’s a lot of tall grass, nine blades become clogged with felt faster than six.

How long does a mowing disc last on the YUKA Mini?

One season to one and a half with average use. Regular cleaning noticeably extends service life.

Are the blades installed?

Yes, the disc is delivered pre-assembled.
