Description

Replacement mowing disc for A3 AWD 2000 and A3 AWD 3500 PRO

With the A3, Dreame has converted the series to all-wheel drive and designed it for areas where the robot works almost continuously. The cutting deck was newly engineered in the process—mowing discs from older Dreame models do not fit here. This disc is made for A3 AWD 2000 and A3 AWD 3500 PRO, with pre-assembled stainless steel blades.

For devices that run many hours every day

What continuous operation does to the blades

An A3 AWD 3500 PRO is not built for weekend use. On properties of this size, it sets off several times a day and works through zones one after another—over a season, that adds up to a runtime that smaller devices can never reach.

For the cutting edges, it’s not the area that matters, but the number of meters they pull through the grass. That’s exactly why blades on large robots wear out earlier, even though the grass is the same.

The all-wheel drive adds to it: The A3 keeps going even where a two-wheel mower gets stuck—through damp hollows, over soft ground, along the edges of slopes. Each of these passages costs sharpness.

Compatible A3 models

Dreame A3 AWD 3500 PRO
Not compatible with: Dreame A1, A1 Pro and A2. This generation uses a different disc mount—so we offer a dedicated disc for A1, A1 Pro and A2. For other A3 deck variants, we’re happy to check compatibility in advance based on the model name.

A2 or A3—where is the line?

Dreame quickly expanded the A series, and the names differ only by one digit. But at the mowing deck, there’s a real break between A2 and A3:

Why an A2 mowing disc doesn’t fit on the A3

With the A3, Dreame has redesigned the drive system and adapted the mowing deck to the new design. The mounting on which the disc sits was changed in the process.

Visually, it’s hard to tell—both discs look similar in product photos. That’s why people who order based on images regularly end up with the wrong variant.

Only the model designation is reliable. If it says A3, this disc is correct. If it says A1, A1 Pro, or A2, you need the disc for the older generation.

A3 AWD 2000 or 3500 PRO – different discs?

No, both use the same disc. The number refers to the intended lawn area, and PRO stands for additional features—nothing changes on the mowing deck as a result.

Anyone using both devices, for example for separate garden areas, can get by with the same replacement part type.

The only difference is the speed: the 3500 model runs more hours per week and needs new blades earlier.

The A3 mows on slopes – can the disc handle it?

The mowing disc can handle it; the blades are the wear part. On a slope, the robot works with a stronger overlap of the mowing paths, and when turning on sloped terrain, the chassis presses more material downward.

What really matters is the even installation. If the mowing disc sits flat and the screws are tightened crosswise, the mounting can carry the load without any problems.

It only becomes critical after a hard collision—such as with an exposed root. Then it’s worth taking a closer look to see whether the mowing disc is still running true.

Replacement on the A3

  1. Switch the device off and remove it from the charging station.
  2. Put on gloves and lay the robot on its side.
  3. Remove dirt and grass felt—on the all-wheel drive, more collects under the chassis than on two-wheel mowers.
  4. Loosen the old mowing disc, fit the new one, and tighten the screws crosswise.
  5. Tap the blades individually: Each one must be able to rotate freely around its screw.

Tightening crosswise is more important here than on smaller devices. The A3 operates with higher torque, and a mowing disc that sits unevenly transfers every imbalance directly to the mounting.

6, 7, or 9 blades on the A3

On large areas, the number of blades matters less for appearance than for service life. The more cutting edges share the same work, the finer the cut—and the sooner the next blade change.

6 blades – the long-running option

Matches the factory configuration and is the most durable choice for large properties: Six strong cutting edges carry more material and last longer, especially when the robot drives through taller or damp grass.

In addition, there is a cover here over the center of the mowing disc, which is not available with 7 and 9 blades. On the A3 with all-wheel drive, this is a practical advantage: On soft ground, the chassis pushes soil and clippings under the device, and without a cover, this material collects around the blade mounting.

For properties where the robot works many hours every day, this is the easiest combination to maintain.

6 blades – longest service life

7 blades – balanced

7 blades – fine results without a big extra cost in wear

One more cutting edge for a noticeably more even cutting pattern. On well-maintained lawns and with regular passes, this is the sensible middle ground.

Especially on uneven terrain, this pays off, because the A3 drives with greater overlap there and every blade of grass is hit multiple times anyway.

Without center cover: uncritical on dry, firm ground – on soft surfaces, the 6-blade disc requires less maintenance.

Choose 7-blade variant

Additional charge, see selection above

9 blades – for neatly kept ornamental areas

The densest blade setup is suitable for properties where the A3 runs every day and only trims the tips. The cutting pattern is very even, and individual blades that remain standing disappear.

On large natural areas with vigorous growth, however, it’s not the first choice – nine narrow cutting edges wear out faster under this level of stress than they gain in fineness.

Also without coverage over the middle. With daily operation on short grass, this hardly matters.

Choose 9-blade variant

When it’s time to replace the set

The robot needs longer to cover the same area than at the start of the season
Cut edges look frayed, especially in denser areas
In low spots, grass stays standing even though the A3 was there
After a collision, the disc no longer runs smoothly

Buy blades individually

On areas of this size, the blades are what give way first—the disc stays. If you take the 60-blade replacement set with screws along as well, you can switch them out right in the middle of the season instead of waiting for a delivery.

Frequently asked questions

Does the mowing disc from the A3 AWD 2000 also fit the A3 AWD 3500 PRO?

Yes. Both A3 variants use the same mowing disc mount. The differences are in the battery and mowing performance.

Can I use the cutting disc from the Dreame A1 or A2 on the A3 AWD?

No. The A1/A1 Pro/A2 series has a smaller mowing deck with a different mount.

How often should I replace the blades on the A3 AWD during continuous operation?

Much more often than with smaller robots. The deciding factor is operating hours, not calendar months—if it runs several hours per day on large areas, it may be multiple times per season.

My A3 leaves stripes even though the blades are new.

The blade plate mounts on the mowing disc are probably worn out. The blades then sit more loosely and cut at a slightly different height. The only solution is to replace the entire mowing disc.

Are 9 blades worth it for the A3 AWD 3500 PRO?

Rarely on very large areas. There, the robot removes more grass, and the advantage of finer cuts becomes negligible.

Do I need to set anything in the app after changing them?

No. The replacement is purely mechanical. After installation, just check whether the set cutting height still matches the desired result.

Are blades and screws included?

The blades are already mounted on the mowing disc. For fastening, use the existing screw from your old mowing disc.

  7. Tighten the screws securely without over-tightening them.
  8. Check each blade for a secure fit and free movement.

7. Check after installation

  • Are all screws fully inserted and securely fastened?
  • Is the cutting disc straight and firmly seated?
  • Can the blades move freely, if intended?
  • Have no tools or foreign objects been left in the area of the cutting disc?
  • Does the cutting disc run freely and without grinding?

8. Operation and Maintenance

  • Check the blades, screws, and cutting disc regularly for wear.
  • Replace damaged or heavily worn parts immediately.
  • Clean the cutting disc regularly of grass clippings and dirt.
  • Do not use the lawn mower robot if unusual noises, vibrations, or running problems occur.
  • Use only compatible replacement parts and suitable mounting materials.

Note on Blade Replacement

Always replace blades in good time. Dull or damaged blades can worsen the cutting pattern,
place a greater load on the lawn mower robot, and impair safety.
