Description

Replacement mowing disc for MOVA 600 and MOVA 1000

MOVA offers several product lines side by side, whose names are very similar—the base models, the LiDAX series, and the VIAX series. This disc is for the MOVA 600 and MOVA 1000 base models. It comes with pre-assembled stainless steel blades and replaces the original disc without any modifications.

For the base models of the MOVA series

The entry into the MOVA series

MOVA 600 and MOVA 1000 are the models that many people buy as their first robotic lawnmower—often from a hardware store rather than a specialist retailer. Accordingly, the operating manual is rarely consulted when purchasing replacement parts.

In fact, the assignment is simple: if the device has only a number without any additional label, it belongs to this disc. If a name suffix such as LiDAX or VIAX is included, a different version is required.

Both base models share the same mounting. Whether 600 or 1000—the number refers to the intended lawn area, not the cutting unit.

Compatible MOVA models

MOVA 600
MOVA 1000
Not compatible with: the LiDAX Ultra series and the VIAX models. Both have their own mowing units. Compatible discs: Mowing disc for LiDAX Ultra 800 – 1600 · Mowing disc for VIAX 250, 300 & 500.

Which MOVA series do I have?

The names of the three product lines are often confused—search queries even include mixed forms such as “Vidax” or “Vivax”. The following overview categorizes them:

MOVA Base, LiDAX Ultra and VIAX in comparison
Series Models Compatible mowing disc
MOVA Base MOVA 600, MOVA 1000 this disc
LiDAX Ultra 800, 1000, 1200, 1600 own disc
VIAX 250, 300, 500 own disc

What matters is the name suffix on the type label, not the number. A “MOVA 1000” and a “LiDAX Ultra 1000” are two different devices with different mowing units.

MOVA belongs to Dreame – do Dreame mowing discs also fit?

No. While MOVA is managed within the Dreame group, the devices are independently designed. A disc for the Dreame A1 or A2 does not fit a MOVA 600.

In search queries, both names often appear together because retailers list the brands together. For choosing replacement parts, only what is on the device matters.

If you actually have a Dreame in your garden, you can find the matching cutting discs under Dreame A1, A1 Pro & A2 or Dreame A3 AWD.

MOVA 600 or 1000 – does that make a difference for the cutting disc?

No, the mounting is the same for both. The number indicates how many square meters the manufacturer has designed the device for.

If you switch from a 600 to a 1000, you can continue to use an existing replacement cutting disc—also, the blades are interchangeable with each other.

The practical difference lies in wear: A MOVA 1000 operating over the full area covers significantly more meters per week and needs new blades sooner.

Swap in just a few steps

  1. Switch off the robot and remove it from the charging station.
  2. Put on gloves and turn the device over.
  3. Remove grass clippings from the mowing area so the new disc sits cleanly.
  4. Loosen the old disc, fit the new one, and tighten the screws evenly.
  5. Finally, tap each blade: It must be able to rotate freely around its screw.

For the first change, a suitable screwdriver is enough—no special tools are required. If you’re unsure, take a quick photo of the starting position before disassembling.

6, 7 or 9 blades

All three versions fit the same mounting. Which one is the right one depends on how often the robot runs—not on the size of the garden.

6 blades – factory configuration with center protection

The direct replacement for the original disc. Nothing changes in driving behavior, nothing in battery life—the simplest solution when the old disc is worn out.

As the only version, it provides protection over the center of the disc, which is not available with 7 and 9 blades. For beginner devices, this is a real comfort boost: if you want to simply let the robot run without having to turn it over regularly, this is the version where buildup at the blade attachment is least likely.

For anyone replacing a disc for the first time, this is also the most straightforward choice.

Mowing disc with 6 blades for MOVA 600
6 blades – with closed center
Mowing disc with 7 blades for MOVA 1000
7 blades – finer results

7 blades – for well-groomed lawns

An additional cutting edge delivers more cuts per revolution. If you keep the grass short and let the robot run every two to three days, you’ll get a more even result.

The additional wear is kept within reasonable limits—this is why this is the version most people choose when buying a second mowing disc.

Without middle protection: No disadvantage on dry grass. If you start the MOVA in the morning while there’s dew, you’ll be better off with the 6-blade version.

Choose 7-blade variant

9 blades – when mowing is done daily

The densest configuration is worth it for robots that start practically every day and only trim a few millimeters. The result then looks very uniform.

If, on the other hand, mowing is only done twice a week and longer grass has to be cut, 6 or 7 stronger blades last longer.

Also here without middle protection – with short lawn and daily operation in practice, this is unproblematic.

Choose 9-blade variant

9 blades – densest cutting pattern

Time for new blades?

The cutting pattern looks uneven, even though the lawn is level
The blade tips are fraying instead of being cut cleanly
After mowing, a dull gray haze remains
A blade can no longer be moved freely

Buy blades individually

Blades are a wear part, not the disc—next time, all you need is a fresh set of cutting. The 60-blade replacement set including screws lasts for several seasons and makes the swap a five-minute job.

Frequently asked questions

Does the cutting disc fit MOVA 600 and MOVA 1000?

Yes, both models use the same disc mount. They differ in mowing performance, not in the mowing deck.

Does the disc also fit MOVA LiDAX or VIAX?

No. LiDAX Ultra and VIAX each have their own mowing decks. Within the MOVA brand, the discs are not interchangeable with each other.

Do I need to calibrate anything after changing it?

No. The MOVA 600 works with simple sensors without LiDAR or RTK. The disc change remains purely mechanical work with no effect in the software.

Can I change the number of blades in the middle of the season?

Yes. Since nothing needs to be calibrated, you can switch between 6, 7, and 9 blades at any time—e.g., in spring with fewer blades for dense growth and in summer with more.

How often is a replacement needed?

There is no fixed interval. Frayed blade tips with a brownish discoloration are the most reliable indicator.

Do I need tools?

No. Switch off, flip it over, clean, replace—about ten minutes without special tools. Gloves are recommended.

Are the blades already installed?

Yes, the disc is delivered ready to install.

proper inspection.

5. Installing the GRASBOT cutting disc

  1. Fit the GRASBOT cutting disc onto the blade mount.
  2. Make sure the cutting disc sits flat and is correctly centered.

  6. Fasten each blade with a suitable screw.
  7. Tighten the screws securely without over-tightening them.
  8. Check each blade for a secure fit and free movement.

7. Check after installation

  • Are all screws fully inserted and securely fastened?
  • Is the cutting disc straight and firmly seated?
  • Can the blades move freely, if intended?
  • Have no tools or foreign objects been left in the area of the cutting disc?
  • Does the cutting disc run freely and without grinding?

8. Operation and Maintenance

  • Check the blades, screws, and cutting disc regularly for wear.
  • Replace damaged or heavily worn parts immediately.
  • Clean the cutting disc regularly of grass clippings and dirt.
  • Do not use the lawn mower robot if unusual noises, vibrations, or running problems occur.
  • Use only compatible replacement parts and suitable mounting materials.

Note on Blade Replacement

Always replace blades in good time. Dull or damaged blades can worsen the cutting pattern,
place a greater load on the lawn mower robot, and impair safety.
